Role on the Ship

You need to work with your GM and your group to define your characters in terms of a role or multiple roles they will play on the ship as her crew. No ship will have all of these. Consider the following as possible roles:

• Captain
• Second-in-command
• Pilot
• Mechanic/ Engineer
• Hired gun
• Muscle
• Navigation specialist
• Communications specialist (linguist who can speak the native tongue when doing business)
• Computer/ Systems expert/ Hacker
• Companion (male or female)
• Cryptology expert
• Security specialist/ professional thief
• Master-at-arms/ tactics and weapons officer
• Security force
• Chaplain
• Medic/ Doctor
• Fixer/ face/ PR/ spy/ grifter
• Cook
• Supercargo: manages buying, selling, and storing the cargo.
• Purser: handles the cash on board and takes care of passengers.
• Broker: makes deals ground-side
• Merchant-owner: businessman owning (or renting) the ship to carry out his own deals.
• Guides
• Dealers
• Entertainment (musicians, singers, comedians…)
